RUN FOR THE EBNP BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Help Shape the Future of East Bank Neighborhoods
The East Bank Neighborhoods Partnership (EBNP) is governed by a Board of Directors elected by the community. Board members are not appointed or selected through a volunteer sign-up—they are chosen through a public election process.
If you care about the future of our neighborhoods and want to take on a leadership role, we encourage you to consider running for the board.
How It Works
Serving on the EBNP Board begins by running as a candidate in our annual election. Community members vote to elect board representatives who help guide the organization’s priorities, programs, and advocacy.
While anyone is welcome to get involved with EBNP as a volunteer, board service is a formal, elected position with defined responsibilities and accountability to the community.
Why Run for the Board
Serving on the board is an opportunity to play a meaningful role in shaping the future of our neighborhoods.
Make an Impact
Help guide decisions around neighborhood priorities, programs, and investments.
Represent Your Community
Bring your perspective—and the perspectives of your neighbors—into important conversations.
Collaborate with Local Leaders
Work alongside residents, business owners, city staff, and partner organizations.
Strengthen Our Neighborhoods
Support efforts that improve quality of life across all of our neighborhoods, not just your own.
Grow as a Leader
Gain experience in nonprofit governance, community engagement, and decision-making.
Who Should Consider Running
We are looking for a broad and diverse group of candidates who reflect the full range of people who live, work, and spend time in our neighborhoods.
You do not need prior board experience to run.
We encourage candidates who are interested in:
Neighborhood development, land use, and infrastructure
Public realm improvements and creative placemaking
Community events and neighborhood traditions
Environmental stewardship and sustainability
Strengthening connections between residents, students, and businesses
Most importantly: a commitment to the community and a willingness to participate actively in board work.
What Board Service Involves
Board members are expected to:
Attend regular board meetings and participate in discussions
Serve on at least one committee or working group
Engage with community members and stakeholders
Help shape organizational priorities and decisions
Act as stewards of EBNP’s mission and resources
Board service is a meaningful commitment, and we encourage prospective candidates to learn more before running.
